Abstract:Electrostatic cooling dry cutting technology has advantages of resources easily accessible, low cost, low energy and environmental protection, in some areas which is increasingly used instead of cutting fluid. For example of boring machining, a dry electrostatic cooling cutting experiment platform was designed and constructed. After a series of comparative experiments and processing technology DEFORM finite element analysis (FEA), cutting force, cutting temperature and tool wear, and other related data were gotten. The results show that the electrostatic cooling technology significantly reduces cutting forces and cutting temperature, increase tool life, and basically reaches the standard wet boring process in comparison with the pure dry cutting. Namely electrostatic cooling dry cutting of the new technology in boring can replace the use of cutting fluids, and put into practical machining production process.
