During the NVH baseline test for a brand of fourdrive SUV, the abnormal shake incar and boom were occurred when the engine speed was 3 600 r/min. The modal analysis of propeller shaft assembly was accomplished and the 1st bending mode frequency measured was 11734 Hz, which further confirmed that the secondorder excitation of engine was approached to the 1st bending mode frequency, then the resonance was occurred. Based on dynamic vibration absorber principle,performance parameters of dynamic vibration absorber were matched and structure was designed. LMS equipment was applied to verify the natural frequency of the absorber samples.Installed test validaes this method can be used to eliminate the noise of the engine under 3 600 r/min, which satisfy the requirement of NVH.
