Based on performance characteristics and failure mode of exhaust manifold catalytic converter, this paper summarizes general process of product design and development. Manifold is analyzed through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis, finite element analysis (FEA) modal analysis, FEA fluidsolid coupling thermal stress analysis and other methods. The performance evaluation criterion for the design rationality of exhaust manifold catalytic converter is put forward to judge the quality of products.
