Abstract:A prediction method of machining deformation for face milling was proposed by combining finite element analysis(FEA)、experiment design method and partial least-squares regression (PLSR) theory.By taking the engine's block as a study object, firstly, orthogonal experiments were designed based on milling parameters' three-level and three-factor.Secondly, according to the three dimensional(3D)FEA model, the deformation value of workpiece under different parameters' combination was computed analyzed. Finally, PLSR method was used to set up face milling prediction model for deformation. Two sample data sets, one modeling data and the other non modeling data were used to verify the predictive model respectively. The results demonstrate that the proposed modeling prediction method is feasible and effective.
