Abstract:From the engineering practice, for numerical control (NC) machining setup problem of car's wheel rim, NC machining process of the wheel rim was analyzed, the method of unit normal vector of machining surfaces was used to analyze the part of wheel rim, and the feature of integrated process on NC machine tool was considered, the feasible NC machining process planning was designed. To solve the setup problem of the wheel rim on the NC machining center, the location of the wheel rim was analyzed and the planning of pneumatic clamping was used to design typical machining center fixture equipment. The designed fixture has simple structure and comfortable operation. It meets the needs of NC machining with batch for installing the similar work-pieces, such as wheel rim and wheel hub.
