By taking the development of the modular production system (MPS) as background, study with the application development of Mitsubishi Electric five degree of freedom (5-DOF) robot RV-2AJ is executed. The information between robot workstation and the other workstation was analyzed in focus, including the robot controller interface circuit, the address and direction of the signals. Meanwhile the origin setting methods for robot joints were expatiated, and the mechanical origin was applied here by using the method of mechanical origin limit. This study provides important reference for the engineers of industrial robot system integration.
