Abstract:The acceleration experiment of linear motion roller guide with cage was carried out with special purpose equipment. The test data such as the two and three parameters of Weibull distributions, and the lognormal distribution were used for analyzing with comparison. The results show that the best fit was achieved by the three parameter Weibull distribution with the minimum life γ introduced, Weibull slope of m=27/20 used, and loading life exponent of 10/3, the lognormal distribution second, and the two parameter third. In practical application, the fatigue spallings of the linear motion roller guide were generally occurred on a position a little bit inside of the straight line portion at the intersection of the raceway surface of the carriage and the inverting device. The dynamic load ratings evaluated theoretically are fit well to the life test results.
