The development status of deephole machining technology was reviewed in fields of the mechanical behavior of the drill pipe, the deephole machining process and the deephole drilling monitoring. Then the development status of the deephole drilling machine was introduced, and a number of existing technical problems were pointed out. Finally, the development trend of the deephole 〖JP2〗machining technology was discussed according to the characteristics of the latest technique and requirements of the industrial production.
