Abstract:Based on ABAQUS system strong deformation analysis, the SiCp /Al of the milling process was simulated by finite element method analysis. The key technical issues equivalent simplified model of the material, the material parameters, the friction between the chip and tool types and delineation of the grid were studied. By means of FEA, simulation results of the milling force components curve were obtained and its results were analyzed. The simulation results of residual stresses on the machined surface were studied, which coincides with the experimental results under the same milling conditions as the simulations. The 3D finite element simulation of the actual processes is feasible, it can provide the basis for determining the rational optimization of milling. The method can also be extended to the 3D FEM simulations of the mechanical milling process of other materials.
