On the basis of the standard particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm, a hybrid particle swarm algorithm (HPSO) was proposed. The method was used for the parameter selection in the process of grinding. Aimed at the material removal rate at maximum, the solution was found in two different processing performances. The results show that the HPSO algorithm in solving efficiency and convergence performance is superior to the PSO method, optimized the solution of grinding parameters by the method is feasible, and can achieve good results.
