In order to enhance the force/tactile sense and the controlling functionality for simulating of chinese painting and calligraphy, force feedback technology was introduced into the virtual painting system.Its implementation and its simulation structure were briefly discussed, its masssping simulation model was analyzed, and the implementation methods of pressure in virtual brush extruding rice paper model and friction on rice paper surface were described. Meanwhile, the force feedback device Phantom Desktop was applied to the virtual painting system.The experimental results show that force feedback technology can effectively enhance realistic to users and satisfy the requirement of realtime interactive.
