Abstract:Connecting rods are key parts to the engines, and the processing technology and related devices reflect significantly the development level of the engine manufacturing industry. Compared to the manufacturing technology of conventional engine connecting rods, the mechanism and process of fracture splitting method were revealed. According to the different core processing technologies, main fracture splitting processes and devices were studied and classified, and further analysis were proceeded about their theories and features, such as the spindle and taperlock type, hydraulic piston type, and horizontal slider type. Besides, reasonable discussion is provided of the new processing methods, such as the composite casting and splitting, heat treatment or frozen added splitting, and fatigue and stretching splitting method, and etc.
