Abstract:Dry hard cutting technology has been rapidly developed in recent years and applied for finishing of hardened steels, due to its environmental friendliness, economic rationality, and good machining flexibility. It is studied of surface roughness, cutting force, and cutting temperature in turning hardened steel Cr12MoV by using CBN cutting tool in dry conditions, based on cutting experiment and finite element simulation with Deform3D software. The effect of the cutting regimes on the abovestated three indicators as a whole was analyzed and calculated by using the matrix analysis method, and the optimal combination of cutting parameters was obtained. The results show that the method is simple and efficient for analyzing experimental working conditions to find the optimal testing scheme. The order of significant degree of the regimes’ influence on the three indicators is depth of cut, cutting speed, and feed rate from high to low.
