The methods in finish machining of hardened gears were summarized, an elaboration was made from several aspects, pointed out the problems in scraping machining of hardened surface of spiral bevel gears which should take attention to. Combined with the illustration of using scraping technology in finish machining of hardened surface of spiral bevel gears, an particular analysis in scraping of hardened surface of spiral bevel gears was made from several fields, such as the formulation of the machining process, the control of scraping allowance, the chosen in machine tool and benchmark, and so on.
