Abstract:The finish machining technology of hardened surface of spiral bevel gears has been a tendency of research object in public in the industry, that deserves to look at since it can improve working accuracy by modify spiral bevel gears heat treatment distortion, improve transmission meshing quality and reducing noise. According to the research achievement of machining technology for spiral gears in recent years, the progress made in the area of finish machining technology of hardened surface of spiral bevel gears was analyzed. The methods in finish machining of hardened gears were summarized, an elaboration was made from several aspects, pointed out the problems in scraping machining of hardened surface of spiral bevel gears which should take attention to. Combined with the illustration of using scraping technology in finish machining of hardened surface of spiral bevel gears, an particular analysis in scraping of hardened surface of spiral bevel gears was made from several fields, such as the formulation of the machining process, the control of scraping allowance, the chosen in machine tool and benchmark, and so on. Scraping technologies for the future research on the optimization of cutting tool material, cutter shape designing, the application of numercial control (NC) machine tools are discussed, which showed the broad prospects of scraping technology in finish machining of hardened surface of spiral bevel gears, in order to provide perspectives for the later researchers in scraping of hardened surface of spiral bevel gears.
