In view of the two main problems of solar thermal power generation, low utilization efficiency of solar energy and high cost of the tracking control system, which restrict the application of solar energy, a tracing system of uniaxial troughtype solar thermal power generation was developed. The tracking device of the system had the advantages of simple structure and low manufacturing cost. This system was adopted of the sun trajectory control method as the tracking control method, and the programmable logical controller (PLC) was used as the control element to drive the stepping motor for tracking. The experimental results show that the tracking accuracy of the system is about ±05°.
