Abstract:The design of magnetic circuit structure determines the performance of magnetorheological(MR) damper. The magnetic circuit structure of MR damper was modelled by using ANSYS parametric programming language (APDL). By setting its structure size as design variable, the maximum magnetic flux density in the model as constraint condition, and the maximum magnetic flux density of the damping channel as objective function, the optimization analysis was carried out. The analysis results show that the magnetic flux density of the optimized structure in the damping channel is enhanced to 032 times, and the distribution is more uniform. After optimizated, the volume of the magnetic structure is reduced by 7%, which makes the magnetic circuit structure more compact. So the APDL optimization analysis is an effective method for designing magnetic circuit structure.
