Abstract:For the flow characteristics of the elliptical gear pump, large displacement and big pulsation, a method based on variable speed drive to stabilize the flow pulsation was proposed. By analyzing the law of the noncircular gear pumps flow pulsation, the structural principle of elliptical gear pump driven by noncircular gear was given, with the instantaneous flow formula deduced. In addition the influence of the eccentric ratio and order of the elliptical gear rotor on the performance of the modified pump were discussed for the design of the noncircular gears. Finally, a comparison was made for different stabilization ways, the result shows that the elliptical gear pump driven by the noncircular gears has advantages of the simple structure and the optimal pulsation stabilization effect.
