In heavy selfelevating tower crane, hydraulic doublecylinder lifting and dropping is adopted,it’〖KG-*2〗s very important for the safe construction to ensure two cylinders synchronous motion. For this reason,the simulation of original double cylinder lifting hydraulic system for a tower crane was made with the help of AMESim. The cause of nonsynchronous motion was the singlecylinder lifting of French POTAIN tower crane was used double in the domestic two cylinder systems. Hereby,the original system was improved. Simulation results show the new system can implement double cylinder synchronization requirements in the drop tower operation.
