Common methods that were used for fault diagnosis of hydraulic system and their defects were described, the active hydraulic testing technology was introduced, and the theory of the active hydraulic test was analyzed. According to the difficult faults of straightening and cutting machine, the oil contamination level detection method in the hydraulic system and the specific fault diagnosis method that was based on the active hydraulic testing technology were described, and the leakage of hydraulic system components of the straightening cutting machine was detected, and the sort of leakage was completed. According to the sorting result, scientific basis for preparing accessories can be provided, and the effectiveness of fault diagnosis method of hydraulic system based on the technology of active hydraulic is tested.
