The structural design of the gantry manipulator is mostly modified by the existing design drawings, which leads to the design of the structure of the safety margin is too large, both a waste of materials, and increase the quality of the machine. ANSYS finite element analysis (FEA) software is used to select static and dynamic characteristics of the frame under the most unstable conditions. The sensitivity of the structural system was used to calculate the design variables, and the design variables which had a certain impact on static and dynamic performance of the gantry manipulator were screened and optimized for size. Compared with the specific parameters before and after optimization, the optimal performance of the manipulator has been improved.
