The block electrode reverse machining method is a traditional on-line technics in micro-electrode discharge machining.It always follows the advantage of high efficiency and disadvantages of indeterminate final dimensions and the phenomenon of tapered electrode.A optimized technics combined with suitable discharge parameter,new property electrode material and different radial feeding methods was proposed to resolve the phenomenon of tapered electrode.According to this techincs,a better quality micro-electrode with Φ0.1 mm diameter and 66 length-to-diameter-ratio was fabricated on normal electric discharge machine.Meanwhile relative machining test was made on specific machine to demonstrate the detail of long micro-electrode machining process and its performance in hole drilling for further works.
