An ultra-precision pneumatic hydrostatic spindle is taken as a research object. Modal testing method was applied to analyze its dynamics characteristics, and the spindle’s modal parameters and influence of air pressure change of radial bearing and thrust bearing on rotor’s every natural frequencies were measured. The results provide the basis for correction of dynamics model, and support for evaluation and optimization of the spindle’s performances and technological level improvement of hydrostatic bearings.
