Force feedback technology was applied to virtual clay modeling system. Three force feedback models were proposed by analyzing force behavior in cutting, pasting and cuttingpasting process. Scrape rate and fill rate per unit time were obtained by calculating real time scraping amount and fill amount. According to the material properties, the scraping force feedback factor and fill force feedback factor were introduced. Cuttingpasting force feedback was calculated according to scraping and fill force feedback. Virtual clay modeling was controlled by force feedback. With Phantom Desktop force interaction equipment, force reaction was successfully implemented in virtual clay modeling system. Simulation experiments prove that the model meets the demands of the virtual clay modeling, making the process of modeling more realistic and improving the efficiency.
