Abstract:The concept of Flow Drill Screwdriving (FDS) technology, fastener feature in application and process chain is introduced. For technological FDS, the gap between the connection points, fastening seated, bottom joint state and cross section quality were judged on basis of its joint quality, in addition, the selection of process parameters had a great influence on the performance of the connector, the influence of the FDS gun axial pressure in the punching stage and the target torque in the tightening stage on plate connection quality was studied by experimental method. By controlling variable method for experiments, the clearance between each state plate, bottom side forming and cross section were detected. The experimental results show that under the same torque, the FDS quality is good when the axial pressure was 1.1 kN. The plate gap is 0 when the target torque was 12 N·m, without screw loose, the higher the target torque, the higher is the joint quality.
