Abstract:The design of heat shrinkable type tool clamping handle was studied systematically.Aiming at two key processes in the process of tool clamping, the finite element model of the heat shrinkable type tool clamping handle was built and correlation analysis was done under the conditions of heating and cooling. Results show that clamping hole size is the key factor influencing the tool inserting, its improper design may lead to clamping stress too large, resulting in the handle material failure;the toolholder external dimensions influence is limited to the expansions and shrinkage, under the condition of enough handle stiffness, the handle can be designed and manufactured according to the characteristics of the specific artifacts.Based on the finite element analysis results,a new design method of the heat shrinkable type tool clamping handle was put forward and it was verified by making the heat shrinkage type tool clamping handle prototype.
