Abstract:A location system is constructed by ZigBee modules for the wireless location of mobile robots. The experiments were conducted to test the influence of changes in reference codes and location scope on the location accuracy. The results show that the location accuracy will be improved if the number of references codes is increased in the same layout of codes. When the number of reference codes is up to a certain value in defined scope, the improvement to the location accuracy is limited. For a rectangle, the side length is 4 meter and the references codes are 8, the location accuracy is about 125 meter. The results can be as reference for the application of ZigBee in mobile robot’s location.
