Abstract:The liquid crystalline backflow driving experiments were conducted. The twodirection and fourdirection driving actuators were designed and made, and the selfmade high voltage waveform generator was used to excite. The driving effect was observed and recorded by the polarizing microscope test and analysis system, and the speed and displacement of the upper glass plate were calculated. When the electric field with the parameters of amplitude 40 V, frequency 1 Hz and duty square wave of 10% was used to excite the actuator, the driving speed could reach about 20 μm/s. The experimental results show that it is feasible to achieve better driving effect with the liquid crystalline actuator, and the design method of liquid crystalline actuator is simple and flexible, which is beneficial to realize the miniaturization of the micromechanical system.
