Abstract:In order to study the radial compressive loadbearing capacity of J55 tubing and the relationship between the applied load and the cross section deformation, based on the axial symmetric crushing plastic hinge model, the theoretical expressions of three stages of radial load of contact, small elastic deformation and large plastic deformation are given respectively. A quasi static radial compression test for three types of tubing was carried out. The main deformation failure modes of the structure were analyzed with observation. The analysis shows that the theory of the non thickening tubing is in good agreement with the test, and the theoretical load value is slightly less than the test value. The comparison of the test results shows that the radial load increases with the increase of the length of the tube, the thickness of the wall and the loading speed, and the total radial plastic deformation ability is weakened, and the strength failure occurs at early outside cracking of the two ends.
