Abstract:In order to utilize the shuttletype check valve in the field of mediumpressure & largediameter pipeline, the flow characteristics of shuttletype check valve was simulated by using ANSYS150 Fluent software. Based on κ-ε standard turbulence model, the discrete method of first order windward format and Simple algorithm were used to make simulation. Through comparing with traditional lift check valve, the variation and distribution of velocity, pressure and flow resistance coefficient of the two check valves were simulated and analyzed in the process of opening.The results show that the fluid velocity and pressure distribution of the shuttletype check valve are more uniform, better symmetry, and the speed gradient is significantly reduced. Maximum speed of the shuttletype check valve is about 045 times the lift check valve. Flow resistance coefficient of the shuttletype check valve is obviously smaller than the lift check valve. And the flow resistance coefficient of the shuttletype check valve decreases significantly on 5%~15% opening. Especially, the relative reduction of the flow resistance coefficient is 884%,and flow resistance coefficient of the shuttletypecheck valve is 189% higher than the lift check valve on 5% opening. Therefore, the shuttletype check valve doesn’〖KG-*2〗t have a large impact during the whole opening process, which reduces the noise of the water flow impact disc and improves the antiwater hammer characteristics.
