The process of coating and setting the automotive wiring harness depends on the manual operation,it has low automation and high production cost. According to the production process of automobile wiring harness and the requirement of automation production, a wiring harness coating system based on an industrial robot was designed. The control module with PLC as the core was established and the robot program was programmed by using the KUKA robot language. A touch screen was used to monitor the system and the humancomputer interaction was realized. The cladding efficiency and the production automation are improved by using the cladding system, and guarantees the product quality and process.
