Abstract:A high performance hybrid CNC machine tool driven by linear motors was developed based on modular design technology, which was mainly composed of two main functional modules, such as 2-DOF parallel spindle head and XY worktable. Taking the parallel spindle module of the machine tool as the research object, based on the method of boundary element and stiffness matrix set, the static stiffness model of the machine tool was established, and the stiffness calculation software was compiled. The distribution of position stiffness and rotational stiffness of the machine tool spindle in the whole working space was calculated. The simulation results show that the machine tool has good stiffness characteristics and meets the design requirements of static stiffness for light cutting.
