Abstract:To verify whether the static and dynamic performance of the torsion beam suspension met the design requirements, the torsion beam dynamic performance analyzed was carried based on its finite element model. The analysis results show that its four natural frequencies are outside of engine working frequency range,so it can meet dynamic performance requirements. The free modal test for the torsion beam was made. The test results show that the test values are basically the same as the simulation values. The load of the torsion beam under ultimate working conditions were extracted based on rear suspension dynamic model, and its static strength was analyzed. The analysis results show that its stresses are lower than the material yield limit,so it can meet the design requirements. The torsion beam was lightweight designed by adopting integration platform. The analysis results show that its static and dynamic performance can meet the design requirements after optimization, and its weight is successfully reduced by 93%,so the overall optimization effect is obvious.Lastly, the torsion beam was bench tested and road tested. The test results show that abnormal noise and cracking dont occurred,so it has high reliability.
