Cartridge valves have the advantages of large flow capacity, simple structure and low leakage, so it is widely used in hydraulic system with high pressure and large flow. A cartridge electrohydraulic proportional twoway throttle valve with the diameter of 25 mm was designed. The structure and working principle were introduced. A complete mathematical model was established based on the structure and working principle. Then the multidomain model of the valve was set up with SimulationX software. The static and dynamic characteristics were analyzed, while the valve was worked respectively in internal feedback and electrical closed loop control modes. By analyzing the effects of different parameters on the performance of the valve, the parameters were adjusted and optimized. It shows that this new valve can control flow precisely and be of good characteristics. The design requirement is satisfied.
