The history and current situation of the World Skills International（WSI） and the World Skills Competition were introduced, as well as the relationship between China and the World Skills Competition and its achievements. The competition content, the process and method of producing the test project, the modules included in the competition, the marking scheme and criterion and the development trend in the future of the plastic mold engineering project were discussed in detail. The competition content and technical description of the plastic die engineering project in the World Skills Competition are closely related to the reality of the mould industry and are changeable. It is a challenge to cultivate highlevel skilled players.
