In order to solve the positioning problem of machine vision in the assembly process,a fast positioning method based on Vision Master and small-step beetle algorithm was proposed.The least squares method of circle fitting was used to extract the ROI region of the image;the Sobel operator was used to deal with the outlines of the image,and the mathematical model for the positioning workpiece was established;to suppress the interference of the complex background,the image was filtered by using Fourier inverse transform;the model was solved by using the small-step beetle algorithm.The proposed method was used to assemble different models and types of workpiece.The results show that the positioning accuracy of this method is more than 9857%,and the error is controlled less than 15%,which meets the actual assembly requirements and can effectively solve the positioning problems in the assembly process.It has practical application value.
