By taking one air-conditioner chassis as the study object, 3D modeling of it was processed, with structure optimization and stamping forming simulation. Multi-objective optimization was carried out to make the chassis to meet the requirements of stiffness and strength simultaneously by adopting ANSYS Workbench software in the case of thinning its thickness. Then stamping forming simulation was implemented for the optimized design using Dynaform software, and the forming effect was good at stamping forming of the optimized chassis through the adjustment of stamping process parameters. This result indicates the numerical simulation technique based on Finite Element Model (FED) has important significance in shorten the product development cycle and reduce development costs.
