Abstract:The combination of rapid prototyping and precision casting can solve some problems and improve the foundry technology that traditional precision casting process is faced with. Fabrication of high precision model by stereo lithography apparatus rapid prototyping can replace wax model. The model surface is covered with refractory shell and it was dried at high temperature to eliminate the resin model, then alloy is casted into shell. Thus the production cycle can be shortened and the cost can be reduced. Selecting a turbine blade as research object, rapid prototyping was combined with precision casting to generate a rapid precision casting process. A resin model manufactured by SPS600 rapid prototyping machine was coated with refractory material and a die cavity was formed. Finally, a metallic turbine blade was finished by precision casting.
