It is very important for the coordinate system conversion of the upper and lower platform, which six degrees of freedom (6DOF) platform is an important carrier of a flight simulator.The application of dual quaternion in 6DOF motion platform was studied.Scaling parameters for dual quaternion in the coordinate system conversion were given, and finally a simulation test with inverse solution of 6DOF motion platform and classical washout algorithm was carried out in MATLAB / SIMULINK. It proves that dual quaternion in 6DOF motion platform hasverygood accuracy and reliability,expanding the option range of 6DOF platform coordinate transformation matrix.
