Electric driving compressed garbage trucks are the energy-saving and emissionreducing special vehicles for urban environmental sanitation.However.The manufactures only replace the engine-driving chassis with the electric driving chassis without improving the upperstructure hydraulic system.As a result,the electric energy in the battery isn’t effectively utilized and the driving range of the vehicles and the lifetime of the battery are shortened.The conventional upperstructure hydraulic system was modeled with AMESim software and the energy consumption of all actuators in one period was calculated.It was concluded that the key factors relating to energy consumption were the vehicleidling and garbage-compressing states.Several suggestions were given to improve the hydraulic system.
