Aiming at the application demand of powder metallurgy hydraulic press, the application of directdrive proportional valve in hydraulic press is studied. The model of the directdrive proportional valve was established in the AMESim. The parameters of the model were set according to the electromagnet characteristics of the actual proportional valve and the parameters of the valve. The characteristics of the valve conform to the actual proportional valve was verified by simulation results. Based on the simulation of press machine system by established model of the machine, it is verified that the performance of the press meets the requirements of the system, indicating the feasibility of the valve in the press.
