Due to the high transmission accuracy, small backlash and long service life, RV reducers are widely used in mechanical systems with high precision. The research status of RV reducers at home and abroad was sorted out, the research results of RV reducer transmission error, backlash, torsional stiffness, wear life and processing technology were shown. The performances of RV reducers at home and abroad were compared. It turns out that there are gaps in both precision retention and product consistency for domestic products. Finally, suggestions for the further development of domestic reducers product from the research level were put forward.
