Experiments were done with W6Mo5Cr4V2 High Speed Steel (HSS) center drills at different quenching temperatures during the manufacturing process,and tested cutting with the end-product for estimating tool life, then data of tool life corresponding to different quenching temperatures were obtained. At the same time according to reliability theory, the tool life at different quenching temperatures and reliability requirements were analyzed and calculated. It provides a reference for establishing heat treatment technology and evaluating the tool life on same material and similar specifications.
