Abstract:The serious environment pollution makes green and sustainable development become an important issue. Clamping device is widely used in manufacturing, so it is meaningful to design clamping device with features of high energy efficiency and non pollution. A novel clamping device was designed. The material’s thermal linear expansion was used as micro drive, and area effect stroke amplifier was used to magnify micro displacement to notable displacement. Thermal potential was used to maintain self-locking state. The new clamping device has the characteristics of high energy efficiency, non pollution, good self-locking property, and high stability.
