Abstract:With Dynaform as the platform of sheet forming simulation, the application of spring back compensator both in the SCP module built-in Dynaform and ThinkDesign’s compensator module was introduced. The advantages and disadvantages of both these two methods were compared, and a new method of spring back compensator was presented based on characteristic lines. Some corresponding characteristic lines were extracted separately from the original surface and spring-back mesh based on the feature of original surface and the result of spring-back simulation. Then the original surface was compensated for deformation based on the matching relationship built between these two groups of characteristic lines. Finally, through examples verify the feasibility of this method, and the experimental results show that by spring back compensation only once by the back plate, the error of spring back between the material and the desired shape can be controlled within the allowable range, and a good surface quality is maintained.
