In order to study the reliability problem of mine hoists,a simulation algorithm based on the Monte-Carlo calculation was proposed. By using Monte Carlo sampling method, the Fault Tree simulation model was established, that was programmed by using MATLAB. Finally the Fault Tree was analyzed quantitatively. Fault Tree reliability curve, accumulated probability of failure and the basic unit mode importance were obtained through the calculation. The result shows that Fault Tree based on Monte Carlo simulation can be used as a new approach in the preventive safety of mine hoist fault.
