Abstract:A finite element model (FEM) on highprecision CNC vertical frustum of cone grinding machine was established. Through calculation and analysis of the heat source and load of the machine, the temperature distribution of the vertical grinding machine was solved with FEM analysis by using ANSYS Workbench. Then an experimental platform was built for temperature rise test of the machine, meanwhile, the experience of temperature rise was conducted on the grinding machine at the horizontal grinding head working time for a plane. Through contrast between the FEM solution with theoretic analysis and test result, it proves that the finite element analysis model and method are reliable, which provide reference for structural optimization and thermal error compensation of the grinding machine.
