Aimed at the highspeed switch valve widely used in the fields of vehicle and mechanical engineering, the structure and operational principle of closing normally twoway highspeed onoff valve were analyzed. The test bay flow characteristics of highspeed switch valve was designed and the test was carried out. Experimental results show that the frequency of pulse width modulation signal which controls highspeed switch valve has little effect on the size of the valve flow, especially when the duty ratio is 20% ~80%. The frequency has great effect on the valve flow with the curve of changing duty ratio,and that is the greater the frequency, the higher the linearity of the curve. The flow rate is being increased gradually with the increasing of pressure at the same duty ratio. Moreover the equivalent flow area is obtained by experiment data.
