For the small space of a coal mine drill, an open tank for the horizontal power source was designed. By analyzing the structure characteristics of hydraulic oil tank on the horizontal power source, the formula of the hydraulic tank volume and the determining methods and principles of the other attachment parameters were given, the design focus and notes for the hydraulic oil tank on horizontal power source were analyzed further. It provides references for the hydraulic tank design.
