Abstract:The testing method of aerostatic thrust bearings’ static performance such as gas pressure of inner film and load carrying capacity was investigated, and corresponding experimental apparatus was developed. The experimental device had the following two advantages: One was that polar coordinate platform was used to locate sensors’ testing point of gas pressure, which achieved the test of pressure in gas inner film, and the biaxial positioning error in x-y movement platform was avoided. The other was that by using lever loading principle, restrictions on the size of weight in direct loading was avoided, the scope of the loading force in experiment was expanded, also enable continuous loading force without fluctuation was achieved. Experimental results and simulation results are the same, which meet the anticipative requirements. The testing method and experimental apparatus can provide effective experimental support for the further development of ultraprecision aerostatic gas lubrication theory.
