Abstract:Automatic knitting machine, a new computerized knitting machine, is designed for family workshops. Knitting principle of the machine is similar to hand knitting machine, but it can achieve automatic weaving, so labor cost is reduced. Thus, it is an innovative product of mechanical and electrical integration, related to mechanical design, computer technology, electronic drives, automatic control, knitting crafts, and many other fields. The control system of the automatic knitting machine was studied. On one hand, the basic knitting process and its main features were introduced. On other hand, a digital control system based on embedded technology and collaborative work of multiCPU was presented. Its system architecture, hardware design and software features implementation were described. It is shown that the designed control system is reasonable, reliable and stable, with strong market competitiveness in actual use.
